That fucker Kuryanovich - a Russian patriot from Zhirinovsky's faction - is live from Moscow now.

He says he is absolutely prepared for an armed fight to make Crimea part of Russia. Someone should grab his sorry ass right now, get him out of his fancy suit and send him off to the Russian army.

The reaction in the studio is sweet, as always: 13 percent support the schmuck, the rest are pretty united against him. Very cute. Even the Communist switched into Ukrainian - which Kuryanovich claims he doesn't understand.

What a circus.

  2. Yeah, that Kuryanovich...imagine him not understanding Ukrainian...that's like a Ukrainian government official conducting talks in Moscow through an interpreter...oh, wait - they did that.

  3. For those who've never seen the shithead, here's a link to his photo next to a Russia-Uber-Alles map: http://soberminded.livejournal.com/57075.html

  4. As for the language, Kuryanovich believes Ukrainian is a dialect of Russian - so how come a patriot like him doesn't understand his mother tongue? Either he's no linguist, or he's a dimwit. Or both.

  5. And Ukrainian nationalists believe the same about Russian. Either Russification was a myth, or Ukraine is governed by the illiterate. Take your pick! Given the current situation of Ukraine, the latter seems more likely.

  6. Oh, we've got plenty of that, the illiterate. The folks who've got most votes in the March election, headed by the Proffessor. Alas. Which doesn't make Kuryanovich less of a dimwit, of course.

  7. No ones arguing that Kuryanovich is not a twit, just that to assume that any Russian speaks/understands Ukrainian is a goofy position.

What about Zvarych? Glass houses, Neeka.

  8. No one's assuming that about "any Russian."

I wrote this entry about Kuryanovich and no one but him. I should've left only these two sentences, I guess -

"He says he is absolutely prepared for an armed fight to make Crimea part of Russia. Someone should grab his sorry ass right now, get him out of his fancy suit and send him off to the Russian army."

    - but I was liveblogging, sort of...

    (Is this you, Matthew?)
