Hard to explain why I'm posting this clip from Sergei Parajanov's "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" now, at 4 AM Friday night - one thing led to another, and on and on and on... One of the reasons is I miss Ukraine...
Funny. I saw this film in Lithuania, provided by an Abkhazian refugee friend who was teaching sculpture to my daughter. Brings back memories now I'm in Georgia. I wonder what happened to her.
You really sound homesick!:)
ReplyDeleteHere’s an English-language documentary on dissident film director Sergei Prajanov, whose love affair with Ukrainian culture landed him in jail.

ReplyDeleteWhat a bizarre clip of a movie. Is that typical of Ukrainian movies?
ReplyDeleteNo, Parajanov isn't typical of anything.
