I completely forgot to tell you that when I got off the train yesterday morning at Leningradsky Vokzal there was a parade of several hundred young people in United Russia capes! I assumed it was some kind of Nashi victory march and it made me feel quite ill.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) has among its 4 P-principle Participation, meaning the child must have a say in matters concerning him/her. Child is also supposed to participate in civil society activities.
Beware : the three dangers of child participation are 1. pure form policy, 2. decoration, 3. manipulation by adults.
Mishki and friends proceeds of all three, I am afraid.
Thank you Neeka for this Novaya Gazeta Link. ... even if I feel really afflicted.
Genia
As I see it, this attempt to Leninize Putin in a reincarnation of the Pioneer Organization brings the meaning of "Putinjugend" even closer to home.
