  1. My russian isn't very good, so maybe it just my translation, but does the awning say "All will be Coca-Cola". That seems to be a alarming bit of advertising, especially when coming from a "evil" US corporation.

    I guess that picture is proof that the Soviet Union is truely dead. I was looking through a book of photos called "A Day in the Life of the Soviet Union" published back in the early 80's, that showed a shoe store with bunch of people waiting to buy any shoes they had, as long as they fit.

    The book was pretty cool, they had about 80-100 photographers in towns all across the USSR take pictures all on the same day. Some really good photos. The same publisher also did the same thing for the US, Japan, and a few other countries that I am forgetting.
