A wonderful sunny day; I happened to be near the Cabinet of Ministers right when the orange crowd first merged with and then pushed out Yanukovych supporters - it was like watching a mini-revolution, bloodless and friendly. I have to run now but I'll write more later and, hopefully, post pictures.
I wish you all the best and good luck in the fight for freedom!!! It will take some time to break the back of the corrupt Kuchma regime, but it can be done!

Greetings from New York! Please keep posting updates; it is wonderful to hear that the people of the Ukraine have the courage to fight for honest elections.
ReplyDeleteThanks Veronica for your wonderful and eloquent writing on the Orange Revolution... Please relay to all Yushchenko supporters: Don't give up the fight! As an American interested in politics and your election, I urge you to not let Yanukovich and Kuchma steal the Presidential Election! Ukraine needs honesty and openess, not corruption in its government. Change is needed.. We are with you and hope Yushchenko will, in the end, be declared the true winner of the Presidency.
ReplyDeletegood luck! i've been reading your blog every day, and trying to keep tabs on this from over here in the states, and i've passed your site on to a lot of people. i hope everything works out for all of you - i'm even wearing orange :-)
ReplyDeleteWith you in spirit.
