They are giving a cynical world an all-too-rare example of the transformational power of grassroots politics and are putting another nail (hopefully permanent) in the coffin of authoritarianism and unresponsive politics. I ...I just read your article in the New York Times. I was very moved.
Older people really are afraid. I spoke to my mother in Dnepropetrovsk today. She voted for Yushenko although she is a terrible moscovite and thinks Ukrianian language is a twisted Russian. Ex convict as a president is where she draws the line.

She gave my 18 year old brother 50 gryvens ($10) so he doesn't go to the demonstrations. She doesn't want him to have any troubles with milita.
According to her, protests will not change a thing because nothing out of the ordinary is going on and in a few days things will return to status quo.

I was so frustrated talking to her ... and although I am cynic there is none of that defeatism in me..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202630.post-1101483409540448132004-11-26T18:36:00.000+03:002004-11-26T18:36:00.000+03:00Neeka!
